Cognitive science are currently dominated by a more or less productive methodological chaos - a mixture of methods originating in psychology, artificial intelligence and biology. One can hold the oppinion, that such a methodological multitude meets the interdisciplinary character of cognitive science. Unfortunately, neither the empirical methods of psychology, nor the experimentation techniques of biology or the systemized approach of computer sciences build the central approach in this interdisciplinary framework. Can we therefore expect, that a combination of these will work properly? We think that cognitive science, as we state it, needs it's own methods. The methodological approach proposed by the BioMod-Group is not systematically conceptualized yet. The aim of this project is to close this gap. |
